Historique :	Le comte Balthasar Petriconi (1763-1842) est représenté en uniforme de lieutenant colonel et aide de camp de Sir Gilbert Eliot (vice-roi anglais de Corse). C'est le seul tableau connu représentant un corse portant un uniforme britannique et datant de l'éphémère royaume anglo-corse (1794-1796). Par la suite, Balthasar de Petriconi devient député de la population de Bastia auprès de Louis XVIII, en 1814, puis sera nommé Préfet de Corse en 1815. Ce tableau est un don de Jean de Petriconi à la ville de Bastia en 2004 pour la maison Caraffa.
